Laurie Pressman, the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, remarked that it is "a pivotal neutral tone … permitting all colors to be highlighted."

Hmm, Cloud Dancer… hold on, just white? Could they be trolling us? Does white qualify as a distinct hue?

How does one describe the color of clouds? Fresh snow? While many view white as a color, every hue is fundamentally a perception of light wavelengths. It's present in a set of colored pencils, so in everyday terms the answer is yes.

Whether Pantone is out of touch is harder to determine. The company states, Cloud Dancer combines easily with other colors, provides a calm backdrop, embodies understated style, and exudes subtle elegance.

Feedback online, however, has proven more critical. A number of observers have suggested Pantone of being completely "tone-deaf." Trend analyst Mandy Lee called it "disappointing." Others have compared it with coded promotion of controversial ideas seen in popular culture.

I see, it's to be hoped they're blissfully unaware that the timing is awkward to be overly emphasizing whiteness... So, how can a regular person rarely near a runway incorporate this information in my world? My kitchen ceiling is my ceiling with white, is that enough?
