This young athlete maintains considerable social media audience
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent backers when she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, making him quite busy."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions this year and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.
"And he's a more impressive person. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face multiple top competitors in women's golf at the competition, including world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to different demographics, specifically with youth audiences.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and has started a personal apparel and wellness company.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
