Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event isn't the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
