Sunshine, meat pies and world-famous cricket grounds - what else would an Three Lions follower desire?

Unfortunately, this scenario is off the table on this occasion, however, after the hosts' dominant victory by 82 runs in Adelaide put the hosts 3-0 up for the fourth straight contest on their own soil.

England's famous supporters' group, the organized fan base, have 3,000 fans flying out for the concluding fixtures in New South Wales and Victoria.

Furthermore, other tour groups who will celebrate the holidays overseas, as well as loved ones heading for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The Ryding Siblings

A group of four supporters are a prime example.

The group had their travel arrangements and match passes secured for the Melbourne and Sydney matches "12 months ago", hoping to witness a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just a short period from their family home in their hometown.

"Everyone at work has been teasing me about it being over for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"Our expectation had been that we would have a meaningful contest upon our arrival."

Diminishing Hope

Hope was abundant concerning a potential victory of ending their 15-year wait for a series win in Australia ahead of the tour.

But they are now looking at the possibility of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 games when the fourth Test gets under way in Melbourne this week.

Ben Stokes' side - and their fans - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

It was mentioned that the "entertainment" of head coach the aggressive 'Bazball' approach in the past couple of seasons had "brought fresh energy to" the longest format for England fans.

Yet the fans said they had realistic outlooks for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"All analysts references this, but it all is about psychological strength. 'The aggressive approach has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, unrealistic play," added Rory.

"During a long match, you should hunker down. Wafting outside 'wide of off stump has never been in the fundamentals, and that is mainly the fault the frontline batsmen."

The Remaining Matches

When questioned if he believed England will win a match in the current series, Sam said: "It appears the Aussies are just too good at the moment."

"It will require multiple performers that makes a significant contribution and produces a match-winning display."

Even with the series lost, the fans are anticipating the trip.

"We will have a wonderful trip anyway," said Katie. "Our approach is that mindset."

"Naturally, it's disappointing we can't contest the series, but we have invested a significant amount by now."

"We plan to savor having Christmas and New Year overseas. Additionally, it's a new experience for us abroad during the festive period."

A teacher, Katie is determined to make the most of the long-haul travel as part of her time off.

"As a backup plan, I've got golf to rely on," she finished.
