Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a historic £11m in earnings.
She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
