British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

This update on his health comes as the boxing community had expressed its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
